We are going to run a couple of competitions
- Jarvis Cup – for anyone who hasn’t won a club competition
- Handicap Cup – open to all
The draw will be made, you’ll be notified who you are playing and then you will have a window of a couple of weeks to play your game.
You’ll need to book a session following the social distancing rules. Afternoons are pretty free but you can use any slot
It’s a chance to meet others in the club whilst staying safe
Both competitions will be handicapped & we’ll let you know what yours is in advance
Score cards will be in the Tom Baker stand for you to use

Mid Shrops League Decision.
We were informed last night that Mid Shropshire league games have been cancelled for this season. A combination of low interest and difficult logistics contributed to the leagues decision. They are still keeping their fingers crossed for a competition or two just in case anything changes
Ladies Afternoon League has also definitely been cancelled
Amendment to numbers allowed on the green
The following amendments, to take immediate effect, have been made to the note below following BCGBA advice on Phase 2
Group: A maximum of 3 Groups (total of 6 people) will be allowed on or around the green at same time.
Social Distancing: You must still follow the Government guidelines on Social Distancing so if you are playing with someone from a different household you must stay 2 meters apart. If groups are playing independently keep 4 meters apart."
Timed practice slots available. Each slot is for an hour with 15 mins to pack up & clear the green & grounds before the next group arrives
Start times are
9:00, 10:15, 11:30, 12:45, 2:00, 3:15, 4:30, 5:45, 7:00, 8:15

Re-opening Green Friday 15 May 2020
BCGBA have issued guidance on the steps required to re-open our green (https://www.bcgba.org.uk/)
The Committee have considered the guidance and have agreed the following process
Group: Only one group at a time will be allowed on the green. A group is a household OR one bowler OR one bowler plus one bowler from a different household.
Social Distancing: You must still follow the Government guidelines on Social Distancing so if you are playing with someone from a different household you must stay 2 meters apart
Equipment: Only use equipment brought from home ( jacks , mats , bowls) . Sterilize before and after use.
If you do not have jacks or mat the club have a small number which they will lend to you for the duration. Please contact Bill Meredith 07512 182176
Entering and leaving: Once you have finished your session please depart as soon as possible. If you arrive before previous group has left stay in your car until it is safe to enter green.
Solid Surfaces : Please do not use the benches
Should you touch solid surface e.g. gates, door please use cleaning material to clean before you leave.
Clubhouse/ Toilets: They will be closed
Members: Only club members allowed on the green. If membership fees have not been paid a cheque inside an envelope can be placed in club letterbox
